Everyone knows the tired, bloated, yucky feeling that comes after downing a big meal like Thanksgiving dinner. Everything tastes so yummy and looks so good... maybe you go back for seconds... thirds? Well, no worries. Enjoy the feast! Your body is a marvelous machine and can handle a day of wacky overeating. But, try not to overdo it with leftovers the next day and the next day. Try to limit your holiday to one day and your body will thank you. Then jump into this post holiday body reset I created just for you!
To start feeling better and lighter immediately, enjoy some mint or detox tea to ease your bloating and digestive issues. The very next day, make sure to drink a big glass of water, followed by a cup of warm water with 1/2 a lemon or lime squeezed in. This will help kickstart your digestion and get things moving ;) Make sure you don't eat until you're hungry even if that means not eating until lunch. Your body is smart and will let you know when it needs food. Then ease into this 3 day reset with light fare like salads, green juices, gluten free grains and lots of vegetables.
When you're ready... whether that's Friday or Monday, here's your 3 day Post Holiday Body Reset. Look it over. Check out the recipes. Decide which meals you will make on what days so you can customize the shopping list to your needs. Head to the grocery store and pick up your nourishing ingredients and fresh, pre-made juices or snacks if you wish. You should never feel hungry on this cleanse. If you are, wait a few minutes, drink some water and make sure what you're really feeling is the need for more food. If so, then eat more of that recipe! Try not to eat more than the recommended amount of nuts and seeds though! But fill up on beautiful fruits and veggies and please get as much organic produce as you possibly can.
